Tonight stays mostly clear with a low around 73. NWS Las Vegas has an Extreme Heat Warning for Thursday, September 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. MST for the Northwest Deserts zone that includes the Kingman area. The midweek trend stays hot and dry, with Wednesday climbing toward 99 and Thursday near 100.
City Hall
City of Kingman offices are back open today after the Labor Day holiday. Public Works is running the holiday trash makeup: Monday customers get pickup today, Tuesday, September 8, and Tuesday customers get pickup Wednesday, September 9. Put cans at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on the adjusted day. KART transit is back on its regular schedule with the offices.
Around Town
Mohave County’s Board of Supervisors meets today, Tuesday, September 8, at 9:30 a.m. in the Board Auditorium at 700 W. Beale Street. The regular first-Monday meeting shifted because Labor Day fell on the holiday.
ADOT work continues on the I-40/US 93 West Kingman interchange after the new Beale Street tunnel opened last week. Expect daytime and nighttime construction plus lane restrictions while crews keep building out the project. Beale Street exits from I-40 and US 93 stay open for downtown and Route 66 access.
Board of Supervisors members may attend the Mohave County Airport Authority Board meeting Wednesday, September 9, at 9:00 a.m. at the Bullhead City School District Board Room, 1004 Hancock Road. County Environmental Quality is also hosting a septic permit workshop Wednesday, September 16, for property owners and builders working through the permit process.
