City Hall

Mohave County is holding a second public hearing today on the proposed use of federal Community Development Block Grant funds for fiscal year 2026. The county expects to receive approximately $908,586 in CDBG funds through the Arizona Department of Housing Regional Account. It’s also applying for an additional $500,000 from the State Special Projects account for both FY2026 and FY2027.

The hearing gives residents an opportunity to weigh in before the county finalizes how those dollars are allocated.

Water Rights

The Arizona Department of Water Resources has filed a Petition for Special Action seeking review of a judge’s decision related to the designation of the Hualapai Valley subsequent Irrigation Non-Expansion Area. The filing, noted in a Mohave County public notice posted April 23, concerns Judge Blaney’s ruling on the Hualapai Valley Aquifer Basin. The outcome could affect future water use determinations in the area northwest of Kingman.

Community Events

The Mohave County Local Emergency Planning Committee has scheduled its next public meeting for June 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Lake Havasu City Fire Department Station 2, located at 2065 Kiowa Boulevard in Lake Havasu City. The LEPC meeting is open to the public under Arizona’s open meeting law.

Mohave County Community Services is also sponsoring a Contractor Town Hall, described as a discussion of emerging opportunities and available resources for the local construction industry. No date for that event was listed in the county’s notice.
