County Government

Mohave County is preparing for a second public hearing on May 18 regarding the use of federal Community Development Block Grant funds. According to the county, it is expected to receive approximately $908,586 in FY2026 CDBG funds through the Arizona Department of Housing Regional Account, and intends to apply for an additional $500,000 for both FY2026 and FY2027 from the State Special Projects account.

The county also published its May 2026 Economic Development Newsletter earlier this month. Separately, a future public hearing scheduled for June 15 will address a proposed adjustment and increase of gate rates at the Mohave Valley Landfill to account for credit card transaction fees.

The Mohave County Recorder’s Office has been distributing an official 90-day voter notice mailer to registered voters across the county. Residents who receive the mailing are encouraged to review it, as it is an official communication from the Recorder’s Office.

In water-related news, the Arizona Department of Water Resources has filed a petition for special action seeking review of a court decision concerning the designation of the Hualapai Valley subsequent Irrigation Non-Expansion Area, according to a notice posted by Mohave County.

The Bureau of Land Management’s Kingman Field Office, which oversees 2.4 million acres of public land in northwestern Arizona, reminds residents that the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area offers a trail system across roughly 11,300 acres near Kingman. With summer heat arriving, the BLM also notes that Wild Cow Springs Campground in the Hualapai Mountains typically offers cooler temperatures than the surrounding valleys.
