Kingman starts Sunday under mostly cloudy skies, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms into the afternoon. The National Weather Service calls for a high near 83 and light northwest winds of 5 to 7 mph. Chance of rain is about 20 percent.

Tonight looks cloudy at first, then gradually clearing to partly cloudy, with a low around 69. There are no active NWS watches, warnings, or advisories for the Kingman city forecast zone as of this morning. Labor Day Monday trends mostly cloudy early, then sunny, with a high near 89.

City Hall

City of Kingman offices are closed Monday, September 7, for Labor Day and reopen Tuesday. Public Works says there will be no residential or commercial trash service Monday. Monday and Tuesday customers should put their cans out one day late, at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on the adjusted day. KART transit does not run Monday either.

Around Town

ADOT’s I-40/US 93 West Kingman interchange work keeps rolling after the new Beale Street tunnel opened earlier this week. Daytime and nighttime construction and lane restrictions are still expected while crews pave the new ramps; Beale Street exits from I-40 and US 93 remain open for downtown and Route 66 access.

Mohave County posted that Board of Supervisors members may attend the Mohave County Airport Authority Board meeting Wednesday, September 9, at 9:00 a.m. at the Bullhead City School District Board Room, 1004 Hancock Road. No legal action will be discussed or taken at that attendance.

County Environmental Quality is also hosting a septic permit workshop Wednesday, September 16, for property owners and builders who need help with the permit process.
