Mohave County’s outdoor fire and consumer fireworks prohibition for unincorporated areas was lifted at 8:00 a.m. on September 9, except at elevations above 4,200 feet in the Hualapai Mountain Range, where it remains in effect. County Emergency Management says monsoon rain eased the wildland threat after consulting fire districts, the state, and BLM.
Mohave County Recorder Lydia Henry says Arizona Senate Bill 1479 photo ID rules for in-person document recordings are fully in effect as of September 11. Bring a valid photo ID when recording in person at 700 W. Beale Street unless your filing qualifies for a state-law exemption. Call the Recorder’s Office at 928-753-0701 with questions.
Board of Supervisors holds a hearing Monday, October 19, at 9:30 a.m. at 700 W. Beale Street on proposed revisions to Mohave County Ordinance 98-10. Details are on file with Public Health and on the county News & Notices page.
Supervisors also posted a notice of attendance for Mohave County Fair and Rodeo Neon Nights, September 17 through 20 at the Mohave County Fairground, 2600 Fairgrounds Boulevard. No legal action will be discussed or taken.
Around Town
ADOT says the new Flying Fortress Parkway interchange on I-40 in east Kingman (Exit 56) is set to open Monday, October 5. The $44 million project, formerly called Rancho Santa Fe Parkway, will add two lanes each way plus bike lanes and sidewalks to ease congestion at Andy Devine Avenue. The city plans a ribbon-cutting and a World War II-era Flying Fortress flyover; exact time and spot will be announced later.
Mohave County Environmental Quality holds a free septic permit workshop Wednesday, September 16, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the Boriana Conference Room at Development Services, 3250 E. Kino Avenue. Property owners, builders, and contractors can register through the county workshop notice; seating is limited.
ADOT’s Monday-through-Thursday daytime one-lane work on I-40 between Stockton Hill Road and Beale Street (mileposts 51-48) is off for the weekend. Expect delays up to about 15 minutes when that West Kingman interchange work resumes Monday.
