Kingman AZ Local News Brief Wednesday 8-5-2026

Today’s Weather

High near 100 this afternoon with southwest winds around 14 mph and gusts up to 22 mph. The National Weather Service office in Las Vegas has issued an Extreme Heat Warning through 8:00 p.m. PDT on August 9.

Public Safety

The Extreme Heat Warning covers the area through Sunday evening. Overnight lows won’t offer much relief — temperatures are expected to bottom out around 76 and may actually climb back to 78 before morning. South winds of 7 to 12 mph, gusting to 18, are forecast tonight.

Residents are advised to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours. The Hualapai Mountains and Wild Cow Springs Campground, where temperatures run cooler than the valley floor, remain an option for those looking to get outside.
