Winter Weather Shift
While today remains mostly cloudy with a high near 54°F, a sharp transition is expected by midweek. A “winter jolt” involving two distinct storm systems will bring rain to the region starting Wednesday, with a stronger front on Thursday potentially delivering gusty winds and unseasonably cold overnight temperatures dipping into the low 40s or even upper 30s.

I-40 Closures for Strategic Blasting
Commuters should prepare for significant disruptions tonight as the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) initiates full closures on Interstate 40. Starting at 8:00 p.m., the stretch between Stockton Hill Road and Beale Street (mileposts 48 to 51) will be shut down in both directions for approximately 30 minutes to facilitate controlled rock blasting for the ongoing West Kingman Traffic Interchange overhaul. Similar stoppages are scheduled for Thursday evening.
