City Hall
Mohave County is hosting a Contractor Town Hall sponsored by Community Services, described as a discussion about emerging opportunities, available resources, and support for the local construction industry. The event was announced May 13 and is open to those involved in the construction sector.
The county has scheduled a second public hearing on the use of Community Development Block Grant funds for May 18, 2026. According to the county, Mohave County expects to receive approximately $908,586 in federal CDBG funds for fiscal year 2026 through the Arizona Department of Housing Regional Account. The county also intends to apply for $500,000 for both FY2026 and FY2027 from the State Special Projects account.
Water Rights
The Arizona Department of Water Resources has filed a Petition for Special Action seeking review of a judge’s decision concerning the designation of the Hualapai Valley subsequent Irrigation Non-Expansion Area, according to a notice posted by Mohave County. The filing relates to ongoing proceedings around the Hualapai Valley Aquifer Basin.
Wildlife and Outdoors
The Bureau of Land Management’s Kingman Field Office oversees 2.4 million acres of public land in northwestern Arizona, including the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area near Kingman, which offers an 11,300-acre trail system. With temperatures climbing into the upper 80s this week in the valley, the BLM notes that Wild Cow Springs Campground in the Hualapai Mountains tends to offer cooler conditions than lower elevations. The Kingman Field Office also manages the largest wild burro population in the country, located in the Black Mountains.
