Major Drug Seizure on I-40
Authorities recently concluded a significant narcotics operation following a high-value traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Kingman. An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper intercepted a minivan carrying approximately 447 pounds of cocaine, valued at an estimated $12.1 million. Both the driver and a passenger were taken into custody and booked into the Mohave County Jail on felony charges, including the transportation of narcotic drugs for sale.
DUI Arrest Involving Minors
A 32-year-old mother from Las Vegas was arrested late last week after deputies observed her vehicle swerving on I-40 near Ash Fork, located between Kingman and Flagstaff. Upon inspection, law enforcement discovered she was allegedly driving under the influence of methamphetamine with her three children—ages 4, 11, and 12—inside the vehicle. Additionally, she was found to have an active outstanding warrant from Florida.
Out-of-State Homicide Suspect Located
A high-stakes pursuit near Kingman ended earlier this week when a 64-year-old man, wanted for a fatal shooting in Las Vegas, was tracked to northwest Arizona. After barricading himself in his vehicle on U.S. 93, the suspect reportedly turned his weapon on himself. He was transported to a regional hospital in critical condition, and the incident resulted in a temporary 30-minute closure of the highway.
