Cold Case Arrest
Mohave County Sheriff’s detectives arrested a 46-year-old Kingman man Tuesday on a first-degree murder charge. The charge ties to the Dec. 14, 2016 shooting death of a 22-year-old in North Kingman. The victim died of multiple gunshot wounds after a weapons call. The suspect is booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. The investigation is still open.
I-40 Work Zone
ADOT’s West Kingman I-40 and US 93 interchange still has Mon-through-Thu daytime lane cuts. I-40 narrows to one lane between Stockton Hill Road and Beale Street from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Delays can run about 15 minutes. Saturday and Sunday sit outside that posted pattern. Project cost is $106,543,210.
Street Drags
Kingman Route 66 Street Drags Centennial race runs Oct. 9 through 11. The strip is on Route 66 between the Kingman Police Department and Arizona Public Safety. General spectator admission is $20. Hours for each day are posted on the event site.
Pitch Finals
Mike J. won the Sept. 15 Moonshot Rural Arizona pitch stop in downtown Kingman and $750. He advances to the state finals in Phoenix on Oct. 24. Regional winners there compete for up to $15,000.
