Today’s Weather
Expect a mostly sunny Saturday with a high near 93, but isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. South-southeast winds will stay light at 3 to 8 mph. Tonight’s low drops to around 73 before temperatures edge back up to about 75 by morning.
City Hall
The Mohave County Recorder’s Office is moving ahead with preparations for Senate Bill 1479, which takes full effect September 11, 2026. The office began ID verification steps last month in advance of the deadline.
The county is also seeking Letters of Interest from individuals, organizations, historical societies, and other qualified parties interested in acquiring or relocating a historic general store. Anyone interested can contact Mohave County directly for details on how to submit.
Looking further out, the Mohave County Board of Supervisors has posted a notice that members may attend the Flying Fortress Traffic Interchange Grand Opening on October 5, 2026.
Community Events
The Kingman Public Library at 3269 N. Burbank St. hosted a Family Night on Wednesday, August 12, running from 6 to 8 p.m. as part of America 250 celebrations. If you missed it, the library’s regular programming continues through the month.
Wildlife and Outdoors
With afternoon storms rolling through, anyone heading out to the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area or the BLM’s public lands around Kingman today should plan around the 2-to-5 p.m. window. The BLM Kingman Field Office manages roughly 2.4 million acres in northwestern Arizona, including nine wilderness areas. Temperatures at higher elevations, such as the Hualapai Mountains where Wild Cow Springs Campground sits, tend to run cooler than the valley floor — a reasonable option for those looking to beat the heat this weekend.
