Weather Outlook
Today promises a clear and sunny day in Kingman.
Expect a high temperature around 60°F (some forecasts predict up to 63°F) and a low tonight of approximately 43°F (some sources indicate a low of 36°F).
Winds will be light, mainly from the southwest at 5-10 mph, and the chance of precipitation is zero. Clear skies are forecast for tonight’s evening activities.

Very Merry Street of Lights Festival:
This annual event transforms Historic Downtown Kingman into a festive walking-only experience from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Attendees can enjoy dozens of uniquely decorated floats lining Beale Street, live entertainment, local food vendors, and the “Mingle Jingle Christmas Bazaar” inside the Beale Celebrations Event Center. A full road closure is in effect on Beale Street between 1st and 6th Streets from noon until 9:00 PM to accommodate the festivities. Santa Claus is expected to make a dramatic entrance via helicopter landing at the Lee Williams High School baseball fields at 5:00 PM.

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting:
The 19th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 6:00 PM tonight at Locomotive Park. Mayor Ken Watkins will join Santa to illuminate the City’s grand tree, a tradition that will also debut a new, fully synchronized musical light show for the historic train display.

Mohave College Art Show: The 5th Annual Mohave College Community Education Art Show and Sale concludes today, offering locals an opportunity to view and purchase unique local art.

Public Safety
Recent crime reports in the Mohave County area include an ongoing investigation into a weapons offense at an elementary school earlier this week. An 8-year-old student at Fort Mohave Elementary School was found in possession of a loaded handgun and made threats against a teacher. The child has been arrested on multiple felony charges.
In other news, a Mohave Valley man has been found guilty of assault charges related to an officer-involved shooting earlier this year. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating an apparent stabbing incident that occurred in north Kingman in November.

Utility Bill Savings:
UniSource Energy Services customers in Kingman and surrounding areas will see a reduction in their monthly electricity bills, as the company has removed a temporary surcharge implemented to recover past high fuel costs.

Veteran Housing Success:
The Northern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System (NAVAHCS), which includes a Kingman location, has successfully housed 434 veterans this year, exceeding its annual goal of 399 individuals.

Infrastructure Grant:
Earlier this year, the City of Kingman was awarded a significant RAISE Grant to support its crucial role in the I-40 TradePort Corridor project, a multi-state initiative to enhance trade routes.
