Today’s Weather
High near 100 today under sunny skies, with south-southwest winds at 3 to 10 mph. The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued an Extreme Heat Warning that runs until 8 p.m. PDT Thursday, August 21.
Public Safety
The Extreme Heat Warning covers the region through most of the week. Residents are urged to limit time outdoors during peak afternoon hours. The low tonight drops only to around 77, meaning there’s little overnight relief from the heat.
Those heading out to the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area or other BLM public lands near Kingman should plan around early morning hours. The Hualapai Mountains tend to run cooler than the valley floor — Wild Cow Springs Campground is one option for those looking for a break from the heat this week.
