In Kingman, Arizona, today marks the start of a citywide chip-sealing project on various streets, aimed at improving road conditions. The initiative, announced by local authorities, is expected to enhance infrastructure for residents and visitors alike.

The community continues to mourn the loss of five individuals, including a young family, in a tragic wrong-way crash on U.S. 93 near White Hills, about 40 miles north of Kingman, which occurred on June 8. Authorities suspect impairment was a factor in the collision, which claimed the lives of Jason Ortiz, his wife, and their child, among others.

In positive developments, Kingman’s historic Beale Street Theater is nearing the completion of its renovation, with 297 new seats recently installed. The project, set to wrap up this summer, will soon welcome audiences back to this iconic venue.

The City of Kingman is also engaging residents through ongoing initiatives. A community survey launched last week seeks input on a proposed indoor event and recreation facility, aiming to boost sports tourism and local events. Additionally, the Adopt-A-Park Program encourages locals to help maintain and enhance the city’s parks.
