Street Drags

Kingman Route 66 Street Drags run Oct. 9 through Oct. 11 on Historic Route 66. Racers will compete in 11 classes for the Route 66 centennial. Friday Test and Tune runs 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday racing runs 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday finals wrap near 4:00 p.m. Park at the Mohave County Fairgrounds and take the shuttle to the west gate.

Flying Fortress

The Flying Fortress I-40 Traffic Interchange holds its grand opening Monday, Oct. 5. Ribbon cutting is set for 11:30 a.m. on the north side of I-40 at the new parkway exit. A B-17 named Sentimental Journey is planned for a flyover at that time. The parkway connects the interstate to Airway Avenue near Kingman Municipal Airport.

I-40 Lanes

ADOT narrows I-40 to one lane between Stockton Hill Road and Beale Street on weekdays. The pattern runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at mileposts 51 to 48. Delays can run up to 15 minutes in the work zone. The work supports the West Kingman I-40 and U.S. 93 interchange project.

Bulldogs Home

Kingman Bulldogs host Odyssey Institute on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7:00 p.m. The Bulldogs are 2-3 after a 59-21 loss to River Valley last week.
