Kingman AZ Local News Brief Monday 8-31-2026

Tonight trends mostly clear after any early evening storms, with only a 10 percent chance of rain before 7 p.m. and a low around 68. Tuesday looks sunny and breezy again, with another high near 89 and south-southwest winds 18 to 24 mph, gusting near 36 mph.

Public Safety

There are no active NWS watches, warnings, or advisories for the Kingman area as of this morning. Afternoon wind and the slight storm chance still make early outdoor work the safer bet.

Around Town

ADOT’s I-40/US 93 West Kingman interchange work is back on its weekday schedule. Today through Thursday, I-40 is narrowed to one lane between Stockton Hill Road and Beale Street (mileposts 51 to 48) from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with delays of up to about 15 minutes.

Rock blasting along US 93 resumes Wednesday, September 3, and continues through October. When blasting is scheduled, expect a short weeknight closure from about 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. between Betty Lane and Coyote Pass. ADOT says blasting will not happen on weekends.

East of town, ADOT’s pavement work on eastbound I-40 between the US 93 junction and Silver Springs Road (about mileposts 72 to 80) keeps overnight lane drops in place from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Monday evening through Friday morning through the end of the year. A reduced speed limit and a 14-foot width restriction apply in that work zone.
