An Extreme Heat Warning issued by NWS Las Vegas remains in effect through 8:00 p.m. PDT Thursday, August 28. Expect a high near 105 today with west southwest winds up to 20 mph gusting; tonight’s low drops only to around 79.
Public Safety
The heat warning covers the full stretch through Thursday evening, and county and city officials have been urging residents to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours. Temperatures are forecast to stay well above 100 through the warning period.
Anyone without air conditioning or those checking on elderly neighbors can contact local cooling resources. The warning is one of the longer-duration heat events of the summer so far.
City Hall
Mohave County Attorney Matt Smith is scheduled to brief the Board of Supervisors on the constitutionality of Flock traffic cameras. The presentation was posted to the county’s public notices page August 21 and hasn’t yet been scheduled for a formal vote.
The county’s Planning and Zoning Commission has a public hearing set for Wednesday, September 9. A formal notice was published August 19; specific agenda items weren’t detailed in the public posting.
The Local Emergency Planning Committee will hold its regular monthly meeting on September 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Bullhead City Fire Station #1, according to an agenda notice posted August 25.

The Mohave County Recorder’s Office is ramping up preparations for the November 3, 2026, General Election following the conclusion of the July primary. Details on early voting schedules and polling locations haven’t been released yet.
The county is also still accepting Letters of Interest from individuals, organizations, and historical societies interested in acquiring or relocating a historic general store. The solicitation was posted August 5 and doesn’t list a closing deadline in the public notice.
