Today’s Weather
An Extreme Heat Warning issued by NWS Las Vegas remains in effect until 8:00 p.m. PDT Thursday, August 21. Expect a high near 100 today with southwest winds around 14 mph and gusts up to 21 mph; tonight’s low drops only to 79.

Public Safety
The heat warning covers the full period through Thursday evening, and residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours. Tonight stays warm, with south winds at 6 to 12 mph and gusts reaching 18 mph offering little relief overnight.

City Hall
The Mohave County Recorder’s Office is moving forward with preparations for the November 3, 2026, General Election following the conclusion of the July Primary. The office is also in the middle of an ID verification push ahead of Senate Bill 1479, which takes full effect September 11, 2026.

Separately, the county posted a public notice announcing that members of the Board of Supervisors may attend the Flying Fortress Traffic Interchange Grand Opening on October 5, 2026. The board may also attend the County Supervisors Association Summit Policy Conference on October 7 and 8.

Mohave County is still accepting Letters of Interest from individuals, organizations, and historical societies interested in acquiring or relocating a historic general store. Qualified parties can contact the county for details.

The Local Workforce Development Board has opened a public comment period on its Local Area Workforce Plan, a two-year modification. Residents and businesses have an opportunity to weigh in before the comment window closes.
