Public Safety

NWS Las Vegas issued a Flood Advisory for the area early this morning, effective from 5:35 a.m. until 7:45 a.m. PDT. Residents in low-lying areas should remain aware that additional storm activity this afternoon could produce brief, heavy rainfall.

Community Events

The Kingman Library at 3269 N. Burbank St. is hosting a Family Night on Wednesday, August 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is part of the America 250 celebration series, which marks the country’s semiquincentennial. Mohave County listed it among its top community notices for the week.

City Hall

Mohave County’s Recorder’s Office is moving forward with identity verification procedures ahead of Senate Bill 1479, which takes full effect September 11, 2026. The office began the process proactively in late July to give residents time to comply before the deadline.

The county is also accepting Letters of Interest from individuals, organizations, and historical societies interested in acquiring or relocating a historic general store. Interested parties can contact Mohave County directly for details on eligibility and the submission process.

Looking further ahead, the Flying Fortress Traffic Interchange grand opening is scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026. Members of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors may attend, according to a notice of attendance filed with the county.
