Historic Heatwave Sweeps Through the Region
Kingman and the surrounding Mohave County are experiencing an unprecedented early-season heatwave. Just yesterday, a nearby desert community shattered national records by reaching
110F, the highest temperature ever documented in the U.S. for the month of March.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and limit outdoor activity as temperatures in Kingman are forecasted to hit a high of 94F today with extremely low humidity.
Early Morning Transit Alerts
Motorists using Airway Avenue encountered brief delays earlier today. The City of Kingman scheduled a temporary closure between 3:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. for essential aerial utility repairs.
While the road near Historic Route 66 has since reopened, city officials continue to urge caution around utility crews finishing minor site work.
Community Engagement & Future Growth
The City of Kingman, in partnership with Arizona State University, officially launched a community survey today. This initiative seeks input from locals and visitors to help guide future urban development and enhance the tourism experience.
Additionally, the Mohave College Governing Board held a public session this morning at the Jagerson Avenue campus to discuss upcoming educational initiatives.
