Kingman keeps the cooler midweek pattern going. The National Weather Service calls for a sunny, breezy Wednesday with a high near 89. South-southwest winds run 17 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph.
Tonight looks mostly clear, with a low around 68 and south winds 13 to 17 mph, gusting near 25 mph. Thursday stays sunny but windier, with a high near 88 and a shot of patchy blowing dust in the early afternoon.

There are no active NWS watches, warnings, or advisories for the Kingman area as of this morning. Gusty afternoon wind is the main outdoor factor today.
City Hall
The Mohave County Local Emergency Planning Committee meets today at 1:00 p.m. at Bullhead City Fire Station No. 1, 1260 Hancock Road in Bullhead City. The public agenda covers county fire restrictions, hazmat reports, and a briefing on the August 14 Kingman storm response.
Kingman City Council held its regular first-Tuesday meeting last night at City Hall. The next regular council meeting is Tuesday, September 15, at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 310 N. 4th Street.
The Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission holds its regular hearing Wednesday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium, 700 West Beale Street in Kingman.
City of Kingman offices are closed Monday, September 7, for Labor Day. Public Works says there is no residential or commercial trash pickup that Monday. Monday and Tuesday customers should put their cans out one day late.
Around Town
ADOT’s I-40/US 93 West Kingman interchange work stays on its weekday schedule. Today and Thursday, I-40 is narrowed to one lane between Stockton Hill Road and Beale Street (mileposts 51 to 48) from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with delays of up to about 15 minutes.
Rock blasting along US 93 resumes Thursday, September 3, and continues through October. When blasting is scheduled, expect a short weeknight closure from about 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. between Betty Lane and Coyote Pass. ADOT says blasting will not happen on weekends.
