Today’s Weather
Kingman stays cooler than late August for the midweek stretch. The National Weather Service calls for a sunny, breezy Tuesday with a high near 89. South-southwest winds run 14 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph.

Tonight looks mostly clear and still breezy, with a low around 69 and south winds 16 to 21 mph, gusting near 34 mph. Wednesday repeats the pattern: sunny and breezy with another high near 89.

Public Safety

There are no active NWS watches, warnings, or advisories for the Kingman area as of this morning. Overnight flood alerts that hit northern Mohave County Monday evening have expired. Afternoon wind is the main outdoor factor today.

City Hall

Kingman City Council holds its regular first-Tuesday meeting tonight at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 310 N. 4th Street. Agendas are posted on the city website and can change up to 24 hours before the meeting.

The Mohave County Local Emergency Planning Committee meets Wednesday, September 2, at 1:00 p.m. at Bullhead City Fire Station No. 1, 1260 Hancock Road in Bullhead City. The public agenda includes county fire restrictions, hazmat reports, and a briefing on the August 14 Kingman storm response.

The Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission holds its regular hearing Wednesday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium, 700 West Beale Street in Kingman.

City of Kingman offices are closed Monday, September 7, for Labor Day. Public Works says there is no residential or commercial trash pickup that Monday. Monday and Tuesday customers should put their cans out one day late.

Around Town

ADOT’s I-40/US 93 West Kingman interchange work stays on its weekday schedule. Today through Thursday, I-40 is narrowed to one lane between Stockton Hill Road and Beale Street (mileposts 51 to 48) from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with delays of up to about 15 minutes.

The Mohave County Recorder’s Office is reminding voters to plan ahead for the Nov. 3 general election. Voter registration closes Oct. 5. Early ballots are set to begin mailing Oct. 7, with in-person early voting Oct. 7 through Oct. 30 (closed Oct. 12). Voters who prefer not to rely on the mail can vote early in person or on Election Day.
