An Extreme Heat Warning issued by NWS Las Vegas remains in effect until 8:00 p.m. tonight. The high will be near 98 with south-southwest winds 7 to 12 mph and gusts up to 18 mph; there’s a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5 p.m., and that storm chance carries into the evening hours with a low around 77.

Public Safety

The heat warning covers the Kingman area through this evening. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, keep hydrated, and check on neighbors — especially elderly residents and those without air conditioning. Thunderstorm activity could develop after 5 p.m., bringing brief gusty winds along with any rainfall.

City Hall

The Mohave County Recorder’s Office is moving ahead with identity verification procedures in advance of Senate Bill 1479, which takes full effect September 11, 2026. The office announced the proactive steps last month to give residents time to comply before the law kicks in.
