Public Safety
The NWS office in Las Vegas issued the Extreme Heat Warning early this morning at 1:00 AM. Temperatures won’t drop much overnight — the low is expected to sit around 79, with readings actually climbing back toward 81 before morning. Residents are advised to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours and check on neighbors, elderly family members, and pets.
City Hall
Mohave County election officials say they’re nearly finished processing ballots from last Tuesday’s election. The Recorder’s Office completed the ballot cure period for additional voters and transferred those final ballots for tabulation, according to a county notice posted Monday. Earlier updates had confirmed late early ballots were tabulated and provisional ballot review was underway.
The Mohave County Board of Health meeting scheduled for July 27 was canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date, the county announced.
Two upcoming public hearings are on the calendar. The Mohave County Board of Supervisors holds its regular meeting Monday, August 3, at 9:30 AM in the Board of Supervisors Auditorium at 700 West Beale Street, where a proposed zoning ordinance amendment will be considered. The Planning and Zoning Commission follows on August 12 at 10:00 AM, same location.
Around Town
The county’s Board of Supervisors members may attend Wednesday morning’s dedication of the Scenic Overlook ADA Trail at Coyote Pass. The ceremony is set for 8:30 AM on July 29.
