Government & Local Election Updates
Mayoral Terms & Primary Leads: Initial primary results show a tight race regarding a ballot measure to extend the Kingman Mayor’s term from two years to four years, with the shorter two-year term holding a narrow lead. Meanwhile, local incumbents have jumped out to early leads in the City Council and Mayoral races.

Petition Signatures Voided: The City Clerk’s office officially invalidated all 51 petition sheets and 734 unverified signatures for the “Kingman Magforce Axe the Tax” referendum (REF26-001). The rejection was due to strict compliance rules requiring the full text of the measure to be attached during circulation.

Meeting Cancellation: The Municipal Utilities Commission meeting originally planned for this evening has been canceled due to a lack of agenda items.

Community & Business Events
Business Mixers: The Kingman Area Chamber is hosting a major “MEGA Mixer” networking event this evening from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mohave College Beale Street Center.

New Retail Openings: The city recently celebrated the official grand openings and ribbon-cutting ceremonies for a new Hobby Lobby and Niu Valley Hawaiian Grill on Stockton Hill Road, boosting local retail options.

City Hall
Ballot counting from Tuesday’s July 21 election is still underway at the Mohave County Recorder’s Office. Unofficial results were posted election night, but the Recorder’s Office says provisional ballot review is now in progress, in line with Arizona law. A full update was posted Wednesday.
