High near 95 with patchy blowing dust expected after 10 a.m. South-southwest winds will run 12 to 31 mph with gusts up to 44 mph. NWS Las Vegas has a Wind Advisory in effect through Sunday morning and a Lake Wind Advisory running until 8 p.m. tonight.

Municipal Program Shut Down
The City of Kingman Recycling Center has initiated its final week of service. Operations are officially ending following the local government’s resolution to discontinue the processing program. Community members can drop off remaining items at the 3700 East Andy Devine Avenue hub from Thursday through Saturday between 8:00 AM and 2:00 PM, subject to a $7.50 vehicle fee.

Board Openings Announced
Municipal leaders are actively seeking community members to join local governance. The city launched an open call for applications to fill an immediate vacancy on the Airport and Industrial Park Advisory Commission.

Historic Celebrations and Arts
Route 66 Centennial: Local entities are preparing for the 2026 Hemmings Great Race arrival on Friday. This cross-country rally features over 140 vintage vehicles. It kicks off with a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark plaque dedication at Locomotive Park.

Live Music Returns: The Sounds of Kingman collective announced a free, family-friendly outdoor concert featuring the band Satin Steel. The event takes place this upcoming Sunday at Metcalfe Park beginning at 4:00 PM.

State Healthcare Fraud Takedown
The Arizona Attorney General’s office indicted the proprietor and multiple workers of the Kingman-based facility Slimming Grace. The prosecution is part of a sweeping, statewide crackdown targeting widespread health care fraud.

Regional Weather Alert
The National Weather Service issued severe climate notifications as an extreme heat warning took effect. Regional daytime highs are projected to approach 112 degrees, prompting local public health warnings to limit outdoor tasks and stay hydrated.

Public Safety
The Arizona Department of Health Services and the Mohave County Department of Public Health announced the end of the measles outbreak that had been under investigation in the county. The announcement came June 11.

City Hall
The Mohave County Board of Supervisors adopted the FY2026-2027 county budget on June 15. The board governs the county’s Flood Control, Library, and Television districts in addition to general county operations.

The Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold its regular meeting Wednesday, July 8. A separate Septic Permit Workshop, hosted by the Mohave County Environmental Quality Department, is also scheduled for July 8 and is open to property owners and builders.

Community Events
Early voting for the July 21 Mohave County Primary Election began June 24 and runs through July 17. Mail ballots have also gone out. The Mohave County Recorder’s Office has reminded voters to watch key registration and return deadlines before election day.

The Kingman Library at 3269 N. Burbank St. will host a free evening program called “A Night at the Library — Celebrating America 250” on Wednesday, August 12, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Wildlife and Outdoors
Anyone heading out to the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area or the Wild Cow Springs Campground in the Hualapai Mountains this weekend should plan around today’s wind advisory. Wild Cow Springs sits at higher elevation where temperatures run cooler than valley floor, though the wind advisory covers the broader region through early Sunday. The BLM Kingman Field Office manages the Cerbat Foothills’ 11,300-acre trail system as well as the surrounding 2.4 million acres of public land in northwestern Arizona.
