Community & Growth
Future Development Poll: The City of Kingman, in partnership with Arizona State University, is actively seeking public input through a Community Growth Survey. Residents and business owners are encouraged to share their vision for the city’s future expansion and visitor experiences.

Statewide Forum Host: Kingman has been chosen by Local First Arizona to host the 19th Annual Rural Policy Forum from August 5–7, 2026. The event will coincide with the Route 66 Centennial, highlighting the city’s role in the “Mother Road’s” 100th anniversary.

Local Government Updates
Utility Rate Adjustments: Following a recent City Council vote, residents can expect a phased increase in water and trash service rates. Solid waste fees are set to rise by 8.25% annually through 2029, while water rates will increase by 3.85% per year over the next five years to fund infrastructure and operational costs.

Mayoral Term Ballot: Voters will decide in the upcoming 2026 election whether to extend the mayoral term from two years to four years. The City Council approved the ordinance earlier this month to place the measure on the ballot.

Safety & Infrastructure
New City Well: The Council has greenlit the design and documentation for City Well 12. The project is supported by a $3 million state appropriation secured last year to bolster the local water supply.

Road Maintenance: Pavement preservation efforts are continuing, with a high-volume chip seal project recently approved for Hualapai Mountain Road, spanning from Central Street to the city limits.

Weather & Traffic
Forecast: Expect exceptionally warm conditions today with a high near 100°F. This is part of a broader spring heatwave affecting the region.

Traffic Advisory: While major utility work on Airway Avenue concluded last week, motorists should remain alert for minor maintenance-related delays as the Flying Fortress Parkway project remains on track for fall completion.
