Fatal Shooting in Nearby Golden Valley: A domestic violence call on Wednesday morning ended in a deadly confrontation 10 miles west of Kingman. A suspect, who barricaded himself inside a trailer on Muscovite Road and reported he was armed, allegedly started shooting after the trailer caught fire. Deputies returned fire, striking the suspect, who later died at the scene. No law enforcement officers were injured.
Historic Fire Engine Finds New Home: Kingman’s Engine 5, a 1965 Seagrave pumper that survived the infamous 1973 Doxol explosion, is heading to the Hall of Flame Fire Museum in Phoenix. The city approved the donation to ensure the vehicle is preserved as a memorial to the 12 lives lost during the blast over 50 years ago.
