Community Honors Fallen DPS Pilot
Kingman residents are gathering today to pay their final respects to Robert Skankey, a local resident and Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) pilot who lost his life in the line of duty earlier this month.

A funeral procession is scheduled to depart from Sutton Memorial Funeral Home at 9:00 a.m., leading to services at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Eastern Street at 11:00 a.m..

Traffic Alert: Eastern Street is closed between Southern and Lillie Avenues until 1:30 p.m. to accommodate the services.

Parking & Overflow: Attendees are directed to park at Hualapai Elementary School, which will also host a livestream for overflow guests.

Official Tribute: Per order of Governor Katie Hobbs, flags across the state are flying at half-staff today in honor of Pilot Skankey.

Infrastructure & Traffic Updates
Construction continues on the Flying Fortress Parkway (formerly Rancho Santa Fe) interchange at I-40 Exit 57. The $44 million project, aimed at improving access to the Kingman Airport industrial park, remains on schedule for completion by mid-2026.
