City Council Sets 2026 Priorities
The Kingman City Council met on Tuesday to formalize its 2026 Legislative Policy Statement. The focus for the coming year remains heavily on infrastructure, specifically securing water management resources and finishing major transit hubs like the Kingman Crossing Traffic Interchange and Flying Fortress Parkway.

In a move to manage resources, officials also voted to cancel the upcoming July 21 and August 18 sessions due to conflicts with the primary election and the annual League of Arizona Cities and Towns Conference.

Major Infrastructure & Safety Contracts

Several key contracts were finalized during the Tuesday session:
Water Safety: A $249,995 agreement was reached with Felix Construction for field verification of water service lines to ensure compliance with updated Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) lead and copper regulations.

Airport Upgrades: The Kingman Airport secured nearly $186,000 for airfield lighting and navigation system improvements, funded largely by federal and ADOT grants.
Sewer & Streets: Plans for an Industrial Park Sewer Main moved forward with Sunrise Engineering, while Kimley-Horn Engineering was tasked with modernizing the city’s manual for street and sidewalk development.
