Tragic Sunday Night Motorcycle Crash on Andy Devine
Local law enforcement officials are piecing together the events of a high-speed motorcycle accident that claimed the life of a long-time resident on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of East Andy Devine Avenue.

According to the Kingman Police Department, 75-year-old John Paul Addessi was operating his motorcycle eastbound at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. He was not wearing a helmet.

Details of the Collision
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing the motorcycle abruptly shift from the inside lane to the outside lane. During this maneuver, the vehicle struck a curb, causing it to slide out of control along the adjacent sidewalk.

Emergency responders arrived shortly after the impact, but Addessi was pronounced dead at the scene. Police noted that the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Investigation and Contributing Factors
Preliminary findings from the Kingman Police Department suggest that both excessive speed and potential intoxication may have played roles in the fatal event.

Forensic investigators spent several hours at the site, which is located near the Kingman Station Apartments, collecting evidence and interviewing bystanders.

The investigation remains active as authorities wait for toxicology results and final accident reconstruction reports.
