Post-Holiday Services: Following yesterday’s New Year’s Day closures, Kingman city offices remain closed today, as they operate on a Monday–Thursday schedule. However, residential and commercial trash collection is occurring today to catch up on the holiday delay.
Lower Utility Costs:
Residents may notice a slight drop in their heating costs starting this month. Southwest Gas implemented a reduction in its Monthly Gas Cost rate effective January 1, 2026, for customers in western Arizona.
New State Minimum Wage:
As of yesterday, Arizona’s minimum wage has officially risen to $15.15 per hour. Local businesses are adjusting payrolls to meet this new inflation-indexed standard.
Infrastructure & Safety
Road Construction Resumes:
Daylight construction continues today on the Rancho Santa Fe Parkway interchange east of the airport. While two lanes remain open in both directions on I-40, motorists should expect minor delays as crews work on the $44 million project.
Law Enforcement Update:
The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the recent loss of K9 Brutus. Additionally, the Kingman Police Department is continuing enhanced DUI enforcement through the holiday weekend, supported by a recent state grant.
